Custom Acoustic Liposuction Premieres in New York

A new type of lipo that allows you to be awake during the procedure is now available in New York.
Dr. Steven Victor, medical director at Steven Victor MD MediSpa is pleased to introduce to New York to the latest type of liposuction that can be performed while the patient is awake -- Custom Acoustic Liposuction (CAL). This new type of liposuction can be performed in the physicians’ office, under local anesthesia with very little to no pain. 
"I am really excited to be able to be the first physician in the New York Region with this new type of liposuction. Patients love it because it is performed under local tumescent anesthesia while the patient is awake, there is little to no pain during the procedure and the results are great," said Dr. Victor. "Compared to other tumescent liposuction techniques, CAL disburses tumescent numbing solution faster, comforting the patient and allowing me to perform detailed body contouring in a shorter amount of time." How it Works: CAL differs from other methods of tumescent liposuction because the surgical cannula is activated by air pressure causing a triple 3-D movement (vibration, rotation and reciprocation), referred to as Nutation. With CAL’s patented technique the cannula provides Turbo Infiltration of the tumescent solution. Turbo Infiltration is better for the patient because it means better disbursement of tumescent solution, faster numbing, less discomfort and a shorter procedure. The vibration of the CAL cannula also interferes with the brains pain receptors in the same way that scratching relieves an itch. Physicians refer to this as the GATE theory. With CAL you also have a choice from a selection of fat suctioning cannulas that better maneuver through more fibrous fat or harder to reach areas of fat enabling precise body contouring. “Compared to some of the newer laser liposuction techniques, CAL preserves the fat that is removed so it can be used for secondary fat transfer or cosmetic injection filler procedures whereas the Laser technique of liposuction liquefies the fat and it cannot be harvested to inject for cosmetic enhancements. Harvesting the patient’s own body fat to inject in other body locations to enhance features is a very hot topic right now amongst the cosmetic industry,” said Dr. Victor.
